Melbourne premature newborn baby photography:  Mandy and Brad brought in darling baby boy Tayte to the newborn photography studio recently.  Having surprised Mum and Dad early he was already six weeks old, but correct age of due date by the time we were blessed to meet this beautiful new family. 

Some of our frequently asked questions involve how the timing for newborn sessions works when babies arrive prematurely so hopefully the below explanation will help anyone wondering.  When we book our clients in before baby is born, they are guaranteed their place in our diary no matter when baby arrives.  This means that we only take on a limited number of bookings to ensure our workload is managable to give every client a relaxed, calm and perfect experience in our studio. Clients are asked to call the studio around day 3 or 4 after baby is born to then schedule a definite day and time for the portrait session.  This is usually held between 7 to 14 days new for baby.  In the event of a premature birth we ask you let us know baby has arrived, we will then wait to hear from you once you have any idea of when baby maybe allowed to go home.  Portrait sessions are then scheduled in the following weeks after baby's discharge, and will take into account your baby's health, your wishes for the session and timing for parents as generally Dads have returned to work before baby is released. 

Having a premature baby can be a major shock to parents, we aim to be as flexible and supportive to you as possible and try to remind parents that beautiful images of your baby can be captured at any stage, and not to worry about missing the two week mark for portraits.  In our nearly seven years of capturing newborns we have met many premmies along the way and have loved meeting all of your miracle babies so very much.
